MARCH
National Eye Donor Month

President Ronald Reagan proclaimed the first NEDM in 1983 and since then a member of Congress has read a proclamation into the Congressional record each March to note this special occasion.

  • Make green Donate Life ribbons. Hand out during St. Patrick's Day to friends, family and colleagues
  • Send an email to your friends and colleagues. Remind them of your connection to cornea donation and encourage them to register as donors www.donateLIFEtexas.org
 APRIL
National Donate Life Month

Celebrated in April each year, NDLM features an entire month of local, regional and national activities to help encourage individuals to register as organ, eye and tissue donors on their state donor registry.

  • Participate or volunteer at the annual Vital Alliance memorial tree planting ceremony
  • Obtain permission to place Donate Life brochures in your company's break room. Contact us to receive brochures, free of charge
 AUGUST
Aug.1 – Nat'l Minority Donor Awareness Day

First recognized nationally in 1996, NMDAD focuses on fears and obstacles related to minority donation. More than half of the individuals on the national transplant waiting list are minorities.
OCTOBER
Vital Alliance Donate Life Run/Walk

Vital Alliance is a non-profit volunteer organization based in San Antonio, TX. Each year the organization hosts a run/walk.

 NOVEMBER
National Donor Sabbath
Nov. 2 - Bridging Lives, Dia de los Muertos

National Donor Sabbath is celebrated during the month of November.  It is a time set aside for religious leaders of all denominations to talk about their faith’s support of donation.

All major religious organizations in the United States support organ, eye, and tissue donation as a compassionate gift.

  • Host a Donate Life awareness table at your house of worship or prayer breakfast.

Bridging Lives, Dia de los Muertos Donor families are invited to decorate a Living Legacies Altar at a arts center. The Altar is decorated with photos and mementos of cornea donors. For more information on the event, please call us.

Donate Life Rose Parade Float

Host a New Year's Day celebration party and view the Donate Life Float during the nationally broadcasted Pasadena Rose Parade
